Blockchain Research Institute
Founded in 2017, the Blockchain Research Institute is enveloped in an on-going study on blockchain. This includes the effect that the technology has on various sectors such as government and business.
The institute is located in Toronto, and has set off on this endeavour with the belief that ‘Blockchain is the foundation for the second era of the internet’.
Speaking on the event, Blockchain Research Institute co-founder, Don Tapscott, commented, “Our goal is to inform, inspire, prepare and connect leaders and enterprises in embracing the transformation that blockchain technology will bring the world…BRG is a unique opportunity to bring together the leading thought leaders and practitioners to discuss the latest innovations in enterprise and government blockchain implementations.”
Long ago, MCI Group established themselves as an authority on community creation. With the company being established 31 years ago (1987), MCI Group is stronger than ever. In that time, they have expanded to over 30 countries, with >2300 employees.
MCI Group offers services which encourage audience participation and engagement at events such as the one discussed here.
Overall, Canadians appear to be more welcoming of blockchain technology than most. Due to this, Canada has seen large levels of adoption, in not only the mining industry, but through government programs as well.
With various companies such as the institute situated within Canadian borders, it should come as no surprise that Toronto is playing host to this upcoming event. While Malta, and likeminded countries are fast becoming blockchain hubs, Canada is quietly keeping pace with their own involvement.
